Mediterranean Blooms Suite Stampin’Up

A sneak-peek into the new Annual Catalog

Its Tuesday morning and I can’t wait to share this lovely card with you. A all about Designer Serie Paper. And it will soon be available for everyone.

We are having our monthly Blog Hop in Amy’s Inkin Krew and the topic is something girly. I don’t know if lemons are girly, but I do know all girls love the feel of the sun and the sea at The Mediterranean coast and with that comes lemon trees and orange trees. I have been in France, Spain, Italy a few time. Sailed the sea in a big ship and a small ship. Also lived in Italy for some time. It’s definitely different than living in Denmark or The Netherlands. The warmer weather might be one of the reasons for a more relaxed population. Most people are more open to newcomers and interested, than we might be in the north. The beauty is that the more places you have lived or visited the more open you become and the more you develop your understanding of the different circumstances people have in their lives.

This card is for a very good friend who lived in France. The great story is that her and I met in The Netherlands when she moved in next to us. I went over and said hi, with a flower and since we have been friends. Also our son went to live with her and her husband, when we had to move, and he liked to stay and finish his school year. Today I was visiting her.

Recently I was at ONSTAGE in Houston and I was lucky to get some designer series paper from the new annual catalog. It was not the one I am showing here, but an other. It turned out another participant really liked the paper I got and would like to exchange. I also liked to exchange mine, so in a short time the paper went through not two pair of hands, but tree and I ended up with the Mediterranean Blooms, which I love.

I have to wait though until May first to get the stamp set, even though I got to stamp with it, as some had preordered for the After Hours. I like the colours a lot and who does not like a bit of sunshine from the Mediterranean sea.

Preparing card stock

  • Large card base 8 1/8″ x 5 1/2. Score at 4 1/4″ on the long side, fold in half. Open the card again and cut the front of card diagonal from the top fold to the upper site bottom.
  • DSP 2 of 4″x 5 1/4″ for the front and inside. One is cut diagonally for the front flap.
  • Small card base for the fold 3″ x 8 1/4″ scored at 4 1/8.
  • Basic white for the inside 2 7/8″ x 4″ and a small piece, cut with the second smallest label from Countryside Corners dies.
  • Card stock for label, fold in half and die cut folded for the small flap/label. Any type of label, I used Countryside Corners dies.

The beauty of this card is you don’t have to have many ink or stamps, you could also choose just one color, green or yellow. The paper is what is talking here. I love what the designer series paper are often doing it easy to make lovely cards. And because of the color scheme at StampinUp, it’s so fun to coordinate all the colours between paper and ink.

To put the card together, it’s easy to glue everything when it has been cut in the rigth dimensions. There is not much stamping involved, and just as much as you want. Leave the label for later if you haven’t decided for what occasion the card should be used.

And now it’s time to hop on to see all the other nice cards this Tuesday. follow the list below, or use the buttons to go next or previous, here below. Have fun and remember to leave a like or a comment. looking forward to your feed back.
